In the Area of Protection «Human Health» damages to human health from various sources are assessed. The common endpoint unit used here is the DALY (disability adjusted life years). This metric accounts for the number of years a someone loses because of a certain environmental mechanism e.g climate change, as well as the number of years someone has to live with constraints and disability due to this environmental mechanism.
